This Privacy Policy explains how TurboTube ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the TurboTube browser extension and our website. TurboTube is built with a privacy-first approach: almost all processing happens locally on your device.

2. Data Collection and Usage

TurboTube does not collect, transmit, or store personally identifiable information (PII) on external servers. The data we do interact with is strictly limited to providing the extension's core functionality:

• Local Settings: Your preferences (e.g., custom hotkeys, theme preferences, preferred playback speed) and analytics (e.g., total time saved) are stored securely on your local device using chrome.storage.local.
• Sync Settings: If you use Chrome's built-in profile sync, your hotkeys and settings may sync across your devices via chrome.storage.sync. This is handled entirely by Google Chrome, not by TurboTube servers.
• No Tracking: We do not track your browsing history, and we do not monitor which videos you watch.

3. Third-Party Services

The TurboTube extension interacts with HTML5 video players on websites you visit. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party platforms (such as YouTube, Udemy, etc.).

Our dashboard may display sponsor cards or ads. If you click on an ad, you will be redirected to a third-party website which may have its own privacy policy. We do not share any of your data with these advertisers.

4. Permissions

TurboTube requests specific browser permissions (such as storage, activeTab, and scripting) only to fulfill its single purpose: enhancing your video playback experience. We never request permissions we do not need.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our features evolve or as required by law. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
